An Open Programme for Women – 16th September 2010

Why a programme for women?

Our research with 150 senior women has revealed that, despite success, women can lack confidence, can feel they have to submerge their preferred style and behaviours in more acceptable but alien male patterns, and do not always come across as effectively as they might. Women may also find it hard to be heard – in the literal sense of the word: they can come across anywhere from shy to shrill and need to find ways to have as much presence as their male colleagues.

What’s different about this?

Many of the approaches to gaining presence are based on male models of leadership and warmongering kings. Women find these hard to identify with without becoming inauthentic. Instead, we have designed a programme that draws from the best of psychology, business and the theatre, to create a unique and highly relevant experience for emerging and confirmed women leaders. Women who attend develop their true voice in such a manner that they are more clearly heard, respected and valued at any level in the organisation.

The programme’s objectives are:

• To clarify personal values, vision and purpose
• To develop a strong authentic voice and opinion
• To incorporate head, heart, body and soul
• To define the individual, personal brand
• To establish strong images of varied role models
• To enable women to lead with authority and presence

What does the programme look and feel like?

Participants benefit from working intensely with voice coach David Roylance and leadership expert Averil Leimon. This dynamic, high energy programme uses a series of exercises to build confidence and repertoire throughout the day, drawing from female role models and sources at all times.
